YEAR 11 CHEMISTRY SUPPORT
AQA Year 11 Chemistry Core Skills Programme
Structured small-group Chemistry support for Year 11 students taking AQA GCSE Chemistry as a separate GCSE and preparing for GCSE examinations.
This 32-week programme combines targeted reteaching of difficult Chemistry content with calculations, required practicals, data handling, examination technique, command words, retrieval and structured exam-question practice.
It is designed specifically for Year 11 students taking AQA GCSE Chemistry as a separate GCSE, primarily at Higher tier. Some sessions cover Chemistry-only specification content, so the programme is not designed for students taking AQA Combined Science: Trilogy. Students working around the Foundation/Higher boundary may still be suitable following a short suitability review.

Who the programme is for
The programme is for Year 11 students taking AQA GCSE Chemistry as a separate GCSE.
It is designed primarily for Higher-tier students who would benefit from a structured route through the year, including targeted recap of difficult content and systematic development of examination skills.
Some sessions cover Chemistry-only specification content, so the programme is not designed for students taking AQA Combined Science: Trilogy. Families looking for support with Combined Science should consider other Chemistry Tutor support rather than this programme.
Students working around the Foundation/Higher boundary may still be suitable. Suitability will be considered individually before a place is offered.
The Chemistry Tutor™ is an independent education business and is not endorsed by or affiliated with AQA.
A full-year programme with a clear purpose
This is not a four-week revision course. It is a 32-week Year 11 programme designed to support students consistently through the academic year.
The programme revisits important and difficult Chemistry content where needed, while also developing calculations, required-practical understanding, command words, data handling, revision and the application of knowledge to examination questions.
The emphasis can respond to diagnostic work, polls, student questions and emerging needs without losing the overall structured route.
What the programme will focus on
Core Chemistry and calculations
- targeted reteaching of difficult or important Chemistry ideas
- quantitative Chemistry and mathematical skills
- identifying and repairing gaps in understanding
- retrieval of essential prior knowledge where it supports Year 11 work
Practical, graphical and data skills
- required-practical knowledge and application
- interpreting practical methods and results
- graphs, tables and unfamiliar data
- evaluating evidence and drawing conclusions
Examination skills and revision
- applying Chemistry knowledge to unfamiliar and exam-style questions
- understanding command words
- developing clear, well-structured responses
- selected examination-question practice
- revision organisation and prioritisation
What is included in the programme fee
Live teaching and participation
- 32 live 60-minute online sessions
- a deliberately small group capped at eight
- live questions, explanation and guided participation
- short polls may be used to identify where emphasis is most useful
Structured resources and practice
- Topic Mastery Checklists
- structured exam-question practice and booklets where appropriate
- diagnostic activities and retrieval work
- selected homework tasks
- relevant Chemistry teaching links and supporting resources
Feedback, catch-up and review
- live feedback during sessions
- selected photographed or scanned student work may be reviewed
- approximately one selected piece of work per four-week cycle may receive individual feedback where appropriate
- session recordings will normally be made available within the programme area for catch-up and review
Live attendance is strongly recommended so that students can participate, ask questions and receive feedback. An individual recording may occasionally be unavailable.
A complete programme, not reactive weekly tuition
The programme follows a planned route through Year 11 rather than changing direction each week simply according to the next school test or homework question.
Difficult content from across the GCSE course can be revisited where it supports current learning and examination readiness. Chemistry knowledge, calculations, required practicals and examination skills are developed systematically across the year.
Diagnostic activities, pre-session polls, student questions and selected work help Jake adjust the emphasis within the programme without losing the overall route.

Joining after the start
The main programme begins in mid-September 2026.

Where a later place is offered, the student will receive clear catch-up priorities identifying relevant knowledge, resources and practice.
Price
The programme fee is 10 monthly payments of £64, paid in advance.
Across the full programme, students receive 32 live 60-minute sessions, so the total fee of £640 is equivalent to £20 per live teaching hour.
Students completing the full programme from the beginning will make 10 monthly payments, giving a total programme fee of £640.
Students joining later will pay a lower total based on the remaining programme period. The exact remaining payment schedule will be confirmed before the place is accepted.
How registration works
For Year 11 students, registration, arrangements and payment should be handled by a parent or carer.
Registering interest begins with a short suitability review covering the student’s qualification, current tier and course stage, current needs, goals and availability.
If the programme appears to be a suitable fit and a place is available, the timetable and payment arrangements will be confirmed before the place is accepted.
